David Suzuki’s 'If YOU Were Prime Minister' Tour
Want to get the environment to the top of the political agenda? Take Canadian icon David Suzuki on the road in a mock, election-style campaign. Don Hauka conceived and managed Suzuki’s “If YOU Were Prime Minister” national tour, February to March 2007. The 30-day tour visited 41 communities, attracting over 30,000 attendees. Another 250,000 Canadians participated in tour activities on-line. It generated national and international media coverage and was the single biggest project the foundation had ever undertaken.

Author, poet and Vancouver Sun columnist Stephen Hume Simon retraced the footsteps of Simon Fraser while touring 18 communities from Prince George to Vancouver. Audiences responded to Hume’s narrative of Fraser’s positive relationship with First nations.  The tour enjoyed a positive media profile, with major advertising and editorial support from Harbour Publishing and the Vancouver.
