Fraser River War Symposium

Fraser River War Symposium
This groundbreaking symposium saw over 120 people – including academics, First Nations, community activists, government officials, business people, educators, musicians, historic re-enactors, elected officials and others – in attendance. The comprehensive program presented fresh perspectives on contemporary problems seen through the lens of our shared history. After a day-long session of presentations, many participants took part in a society-sponsored river-rafting trip from Boston Bar to Yale, which was featured as a main story in the August 2008 edition of BC Magazine. The symposium also generated considerable media coverage, including a full-page article in the Sunday Province newspaper and radio interviews on CBC Almanac and CKNW’s Christy Clark Show.
