Passports to Gold Passports to Gold
This project combines a traditional passport program and the fast-growing geocaching phenomenon to draw visitors up the Hope-Barkerville corridor and adjacent areas. It allows visitors to follow three historic characters along through the region and take part in a “mystery hunt” with clues and answers posted in a dedicated web page. The concept is called “Chasing the Golden Butterfly” and is a model of community, corporate and government cooperation. Partners include tourism associations, CN, 2010 Legacies, dozens of community organizations and Husky Oil. The program will be delivered in the spring of 2009.

A guide to preserving local salmon habitat, it was distributed to every municipality in B.C. and uses zoning language to bring home the message that municipalities can play a major role in preserving salmon habitat.
